The Boolarra Folk Festival Committee are
proud to have been nominated for the
Community Event of the Year Award, 2004.

The second Boolarra Folk Festival was held on Saturday 28th February, 2004 at the Centenary and Railway Parks in Boolarra Victoria. The theme for our 2004 festival  was "Folk and Drums". The theme incorporated traditional and contemporary folk music with Latin and African percussion groups.

The 2004 festival kicked off on Friday 27th Febraury, 2004, with a Folk Dance at the Boolarra Memorial Hall. This was a great night with music provided by "Beat Around the Bush".

On Saturday, there was non-stop music from 19 professional and amateur musical acts from Gipppsland and Melbourne.

2004 Steve.jpgA Kids' Tent with fabulous activities was on site in the Centenary Park.

A highlight of the day was the percussion and drum performance, showcasing 250 students from 8 Primary schools within Gippsland. This was achieved under the direction of Steve Schultz, a local icon and a really nice bloke. Those who witnessed this performance will testify that it was "spine-tingling".
